SimSANs is a development toolkit for designing, modeling, simulating, and
evaluating SANs (Storage Area Networks).

SimSANs has a three-level architecture:
core module level, network topology level, and system configuration level.
Accordingly, SimSANs can be used in three different applications:

- Module Design: based on well-designed protocol models, use C++ and OMNeT++
to design core modules such as hosts, switches/gateways, and storage devices,
which make up a SAN environment.

- Network Design: based on a given set of modules, use NED (NEtwork Description)
language shipped with OMNeT++ to model storage network systems with various
topologies and structures.

- System Performance Evaluation: based on a given network system model, setup
various configurations and run simulations to analyze the performance.

Detailed information (model description, howto, case studies, etc.)
and source code are available on the web site.
